I just had to share this post with you's a reminder on how children are raised up in today's world. My childhood was a much simpler life than it is for children today. But the bottom line is the same quailty and principals are and should be the same. If I had to pick out just one word for this posting it would be 'RESPECT'. That's what I was taught. Love and respect of your elders, your parents, people you meet, and those in your life. If that is achieved, then you have 'respect' for yourself.

Thank you once again Barb for your kind words.

Here's the posting;

My mom and dad were apparently abusive to me when I was a kid. They made me do household jobs, go to church, and go to school. They gave me a curfew and smacked my butt when I did wrong. They put food on the table and I was expected to eat it. They put clothes on my back and I was expected to wear them . They suggested I get a job and work for the things that I wanted. They insisted that I do my best at school, at my job, and to take pride in my work. I grew up with morals, a good work ethic, and respect for the law & my elders. I thank God everyday for my Mom and Dad !

Barb Lewis Tignor: I am glad they were so abusive to you Linda!! You turned out to be a wonderful, caring person. You respect older adults, you proved that by the wonderful book you wrote. You are kind and so appreciative to your FB friends. You send them good morning messages every morning. I could say more., but your works prove that. Yes I am glad that your parents were abusive. Wish more were and maybe thwere would be more wonderful and caring people here.

Linda McCallister Thank you so much for those kind words & thoughts. heart emoticon♥ And I'm glad you liked my book.....I was truly attached to her...and it hurt me deeply when she went home to be with the glad I have my memories of her. I have never took any of my friends for granted. And I never will. God bless each one of them heart
